About the Presentation:

This presentation will provide the information to create backups that are encrypted on your system and sent to the cloud for storage.

Bill Tabor will show a current implementation that is now backing up a clients system to the cloud, archiving the data after 32 days on the system to the near off line data storage at a lower cost.

Using the Linux utility duplicity: Bill will also provide an example using Amazon S3 as well as a local storage system.

About the Speaker:

Mr. Tabor is a long time member of FLUX and has over 25 years of developing on Linux platforms going back to the porting of Linux form Intel to AXP (Digital alpha chip).

He has a strong knowledge base in encryption and PKI technologies.

Mr. Tabor has completed a BSIE in Systems Analysis from the University of Miami and Engineering coursework at Carnegie-Mellon University, as well as Masters-level coursework at Nova University. He is a Protege of C. Gordon Bell, noted developer of early commercial computing systems, and Rear Admiral Grace Murray Hopper, pioneering computer programmer.
