SESSION 1:
In the first session, we will take a technical dive into how to make an app which serves as it’s own resource for others. You’ve heard of DLLs, PCLs, OCXs and LIBs. In this meetup, we’ll discuss how to make an app that other developers can use so they don’t have to duplicate your efforts!
We will discuss using protocols to make your app launchable by other apps, how to pass data, and how to return data to the app that launched you.
This meetup will show you how to expose a protocol so that your app “has it’s own URL” and can be launched. We’ll demonstrate how to be the target of a launch request, accepting information from the caller and how to return control and data back to the app that launched you.
We’ll show how these URLs are formatted, and provide some links to the emerging standards for this method of inter-app communication.
Finally, we will show that this standard is available on both Windows Phone and Windows 8. Since we’re discussing emerging standards, we’ll even acknowledge that it can be done on those “other two” platforms, to

SESSION 2:
We will have an open discussion on some of the techniques Colt and Frank have used to get their apps noticed. We’ll open the floor to ideas from other app developers. We also wish to lay the groundwork for identifying topics that can be used to hold separate talks on “The Business of Apps”. Stay tuned on this emerging approach to this interesting topic!
