SFSSUG – Secure SQL Databases Using TDE w/ Thomas Chan

In this session, Thomas will talk about Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), a Microsoft solution to protect sensitive information by encrypting the entire SQL database. TDE encrypts and decrypts data on the fly with minimum overhead and no code changes at all from the application side.
Thomas Chan is a SQL Server Database Administrator at Florida International University, where he is responsible for daily backup/recovery, database encryption and performance tuning. He has previously worked as a Database Administrator, System Analyst, and Developer with SQL Server for over 10 years.
