SoFloPHP Boca Debugging Troubleshooting PHP

In this talk Jeffrey Roberts will discuss basic troubleshooting, errors and error handling, debugging methods, practices, and tools.

The talk will cover error types, including but not limited to, syntax errors, logical errors, and runtime exceptions. We will also discuss debugging methods, ranging from the locations of default log files, outputting errors to custom log files, as well as, outputting errors to the browser or command line, by using echo, var_dump, and print_r.

Jeffrey Roberts will cover standard debugging practices and tools like unit testing, FirePHP, Xdebug, New Relic, and Zend Studio’s integration with Zend Server.
