Laravel is a web application framework with expressive, elegant syntax. Laravel attempts to take the pain out of development by easing common tasks used in the majority of web projects, such as authentication, routing, sessions, and caching. Lately, Laravel 4 has gained great popularity and is the most popular PHP project on GitHub with over 600,000 downloads. Part of the reason for this popularity is Laravel’s friendly & vibrant community which keeps growing every day.

In this talk, Angel will give a tour of the basic structure, components, and features of Laravel 4. Angel will guide us through the structure of the framework and how everything is tied together with the Facade design pattern. He will also demo a sample project which will have you running a web application in just 15 minutes! Angel will then finish with some tips for larger applications and scalability.

Angel is an enthusiastic Web Developer experienced in several scripting languages. Currently he is working as a Staff Engineer Coordinator at Nexogy. He loves coding best practices, has a focus on full stack development with PHP, is a Laravel fanboy. Angel is passionate about programming, math, uncovering new challenges, and PHP & general FOSS communities. Angel is ready to write code at any time, just asking to solve a problem!
