The Stockdale Foundation announced today it will be holding its 2nd Fundraising event Thursday, May 17, 2012, 6:30 – 10:00 PM. The fundraiser will be held at the JM Lexus showroom in Margate, FL, and will feature a Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament and Casino-style Table Games. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet several local “Miss Florida” contestants, a surprise former Miami Dolphins great, current Miami Dolphins fan-favorites and other local celebrities.
$25,000.00 in prizes will be awarded to the Final Table participants, and there will be multiple raffle prizes and silent auction items available to bid on. Food and drinks will be available.
According to Martin Stockdale, President of The Stockdale Foundation, the goal of the event is to provide the foundation the financial means to significantly increase the number scholarships awarded each year. “Right now we can award one scholarship per year,” states Stockdale. “We’d like to see that number jump up to 15 or 20 in 2012.”
