The South Florida Digital Alliance is a non-profit organization whose mission is to create the technology infrastructure and services that will advance economic development, education, and individual empowerment; as well as, raise the technology quotient (TQ) in South Florida.   The SFDA seeks to achieve its mission through:  1) the establishment of community based Technology Learning Centers (TLCs); 2) refurbishing computers/laptops for use by educational/non-profit organizations; and, 3) sponsoring various technology projects in our community.

Members of the SFDA assist by donating working end-of-life computers and laptops for use in implementing these technology projects.  However, often the equipment donated does not have adequate memory or hard drives for our targeted projects.

The SFDA would greatly appreciate your organization’s help through the donation of the following items to assist in the build out of our community technology projects.

1)      SATA hard drives (40Gb or larger)

2)      Desktop memory  (all models); however, our highest demand is currently for memory for older Dell computers (OptiPlex  GX620, 745 and 755) –   RAM model  PC2-5300 and/or PC2-4200u which is installed in pairs (2x512mb or 2x1gb)

If your organization can assist please send an email to info@sfdigitalalliance.org, and someone will contact you very shortly to schedule a pickup of the donated hard drives or memory.

Hard drive donations will go through a stringent DoD wipe (3 passes utilizing KillDisk Professional) by SFDA staff, and a data destruction certificate certifying the DoD wipe can be provided to requesting organizations/individuals.

Thank you,
James E. Osteen, Jr.

Executive Director, South Florida Digital Alliance/Miami-Dade Broadband Coalition
